Burger De Ville

This burger restaurant located in Westmount, far from where I live(metro&bus for an hour) but they got great review on Urbanspoon and it was curious enough for me to try who made hambergers at Cafe Paradiso(later, I call it "Paradiso") for 4 years.

When I entered the restaurant, there was a cashier and a lady was there asked me "for here or to go" in French and English. She was very friendly and explained how to order. You can choose the toppings from with cheese(cheddar, goat, blue), bacon with extra price then she asked me

how the meat is done I want and other toppings such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, onion, tomato, lettuce, relish etc...from the list and they are free. Then she gave me the number and I could wait at the table. I ordered medium burger with cheddar cheese with lettuce, tomato, relish, dijon and fries. Cheese burger for $5, fries for $3, and fountain drink for $2.25, total $11.67.

They came very fast, probably in 5 minutes or less. The burger was done perfectly medium and it was very juicy. I could tell meat was fresh and the fries were made from fresh cut potatoes. At Paradiso, I cooked so many burgers and fresh cut fries, I know what they taste like when it fresh. Fries were big size, better sharing 2 people.

After I finished eating, the lady walked by and asked me if the everything were ok, and then later one of the cook walked by asked the same thing. They are very attentive and friendly.

I noticed that all the signs in the restaurant were written in French and English, so I asked the lady about it. She said there are lots of people who speaks only English in this neighborhood.

As I was leaving the restaurant, that lady, Diane was eating a burger on a patio outside and I asked her about the restaurant and found out that her husband and her son are the owner of this place. Actually, there is another one in Plateau Mont-Royal(oh, that was closer to me!) but this one is the original and it's been opened for 2 years. She said they are planning to open more restaurants. We introduced each other and she knew I was Japanese from my name and she knew some of Japanese words. She learned from Japanese girl who worked there before.

It was very pleasant talking to Diane, and having great lunch. I will definitely go back.
